I live in England. The Alps are about 1000 miles south. I went there a few years ago on my bike and I am not exagerating when I call it a bikers paradise. The finest roads and the finest scenery. I envy you, Vaporhead. One mountain pass was so high, the bike would hardly run - it was like having the choke on. But all the rest of the time, things were perfect. I also rode from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean through the Pyrenese mountains. In a straight line it's about 350 miles. But there are no straight lines in the mountains. It took two days.
There was only one thing wrong - I was on a Honda 650. Rev, rev, rev. I wish I had had my Savage then with it's low down torque.
